About me

I am a graduate student in Math at UConn, hopefully with just a couple of years left (although who knows when I'll update this profile!). I really enjoy the teaching side of the position and should probably spend more time on the other aspects (homework and research). I am originally from Colorado and miss the food terribly. "Great food in Colorado?" you ask? Well ask me some time and I'll explain.

I love discussing philosophy and politics and other things. So feel free to add me as a friend and start an "argument" with me. It will be a wild time!

About my collections

I have a horrible tendency to stockpile books. Most of the books in my collection are unread, and will most likely stay that way (I'm a pretty slow reader; new books come out all the time). I do this with movies and games as well, if to a lesser extent. And with all of these, once I've read/watched/beat it, I usually get rid of it.

A Fun, Light, Clever Caper

Posted : 16 years, 9 months ago on 6 July 2007 12:42 (A review of Foolproof)

In a lot of ways, this is a family movie. It has some campy dialog, some truly unbelievable plot twists, and very little substance. And yet, I found that I was smiling the whole time. This is one of those movies that just make you happy to be watching. You want to know what will happen to the characters, and you want them to do more, because you enjoy their presence.

The plot is simple: three friends have taken to playing a game they call "Foolproof" in which they plan out the perfect capers. Of course they never enact their plans - that is until their most recent scenario goes missing. Soon they find they have no choice but to become real life thieves, and get to put their hobby to practical use.

And of course, this means clever twists and turns in the tradition of heist movies. But all is done with a wink and a grin, that will leave you grinning as well.
